Julie Webster’s career as an artist is defined by eliciting the beautiful from the everyday, from textiles and interior design, to historic restorations and graphic arts. She excels at turning the familiar into the fantastic.
Formally trained with a degree in fine arts. Julie specializes in photographing images from the natural world and translating them to large canvases with oil and acrylics. Often cropping the image to some small part, and then painting a colorful interpretation of the subject.
“I want to paint the often overlooked as beautiful and do it in a way that reaches people. If I can do that, I feel like I’m fulfilling my role as an artist.”
@ Laura's Library from March 1 through April 30.
